{"id":1480,"date":"2026-07-22T14:23:34","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T13:23:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/communications\/?p=1480"},"modified":"2026-07-22T14:23:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T13:23:35","slug":"content-design-team-round-up-june-and-july-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/communications\/2026\/07\/22\/content-design-team-round-up-june-and-july-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Content Design team round up: June and July 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s what we\u2019ve been up to over the past couple of sunny summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>HR-related projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve had a few projects related to HR in the works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/staff\/hr\/managers\/performance-management\/\"><strong>PDR pages<\/strong><\/a>: supported HR with refreshing web content in line with their new performance and development framework. Added video guidance and consolidated multi-page guides.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/staff\/hr\/learning-development\/collection\/\"><strong>Staff learning collection<\/strong><\/a>: helped launch a new set of web-based resources for personal development and navigating change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quality assurance and content governance model<\/strong>: following the web migration project in April, moving the HR pages from a legacy system and into the Web CMS, we\u2019ve now handed over business-as-usual (BAU) maintenance of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/staff\/hr\/\">new site<\/a> to HR colleagues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Workday Help (knowledge base) options:<\/strong> helping figure out the options for what content to host within Workday Help alongside existing content in the main University website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New jobs landing page: <\/strong>undertaking discovery and content planning for a new \u2018Jobs at York\u2019 landing page to showcase our employer proposition to prospective staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/staff\/hr\/employment\/pay-grading\/pay-scales\/grades-1-8\/\"><strong>Pay grades<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong> <\/strong>redesigned the content and layout, making the information clearer and more accessible for everyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Department and interdisciplinary centre web rebuilds<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s been a busy couple of months for getting more rebuild projects over the line; working with the Faculty Spokes team and Research Comms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/health-sciences\/\">Health Sciences<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/psychology\/\">Psychology<\/a> web rebuilds went live in June &#8211; that\u2019s all the Sciences departments now complete!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For interdisciplinary centres, we\u2019ve finalised the sign-off and going-live prep stages for Medieval Studies and Eighteenth Century Studies. They\u2019re all set for going live next week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Student landing page and support pages<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We continue to make progress on the project to rebuild complex student support web content. We\u2019re gathering student insights via a card sort survey, which was published a few weeks ago. We\u2019re recruiting students for some baseline user testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as rebuilding the support page we\u2019re planning to overhaul and rebuild the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/students\/\">main landing page for current students<\/a>.
