As a Climate Change Champion, she is an intrinsically motivated, highly driven, energetic, passionate and innovative thinker who has combined over twelve years of experience in academia specializing in International Relations and ten years in political leadership and representation, to bring to fruition tangible solutions to complex socio-economic challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why IGDC?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI was very impressed with the diversity of perspectives, the diversity of cultures, and the geographic reach of the Centre\u2019s work.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Experience as a Fellow\" width=\"660\" height=\"371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PG-gv8JbK_0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delivering a MasterClass<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IGDC community of students was able to benefit from Gale\u2019s career experiences during a Master Class. Gale explains how it felt to be back in the classroom after having been away from academia for over a decade:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was a very friendly space, the students were very engaging, and the range of issues that they were interested in, not only as global citizens but also with respect to what they were pursuing\u2026 made for a very rich exchange.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Delivering a MasterClass\" width=\"660\" height=\"371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QNwHVeWI5PY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Gale shared her view on what she thought students took away from the Master Class:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor them to be interfacing with a politician in such close proximity\u2026humanised politicians so to speak.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Student experience of Master Class\" width=\"660\" height=\"371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Lpy3S4eM1XQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Leave no-one behind\u2019 reflecting on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Visiting Fellows also have the opportunity to hold IGDC events to share their experiences of specific topics and bring together panel members from their wider network of contacts. Read Gale\u2019s blog following the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transforming Education Summit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">During her time as a fellow with IGDC Dr Gale TC Rigobert was selected by Unicef, UNESCO and UNDP to undertake research in the Eastern Caribbean linking into the United Nations Transforming Education Summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s next with IGDC?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">IGDC are pleased to say that Gale is joining the Centre in 2023 in a new capacity as a member of the External Advisory Board.
