{"id":1364,"date":"2023-03-01T11:54:06","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T11:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/research-student-community\/?p=1364"},"modified":"2023-03-01T11:54:06","modified_gmt":"2023-03-01T11:54:06","slug":"3-minute-thesis-2023-applications-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/research-student-community\/2023\/03\/01\/3-minute-thesis-2023-applications-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Minute Thesis 2023 &#8211; Applications Now Open!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">York <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/research\/graduate-school\/public-engagement\/three-minute-thesis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3 Minute Thesis<\/a> is back for 2023 &#8211; and we&#8217;re incredibly proud to be celebrating our 10th anniversary running this exciting event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open to current PhD researchers at the University of York, you&#8217;ll have just three minutes each to communicate the impact of\u00a0your research to an audience made up of university staff, members of the general public, and industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The 2023 3MT final at York will take place on 14th June<\/strong> <strong>2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications are open from 1st March &#8211; 31st March 2023, 5pm (BST) &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfoKtO2naqhg7e7chtY_4jsTcpszPcPua1DWnt1Y3UIq7egqA\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before you apply, please ensure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are a current University of York PhD researcher, and have passed your first Progression Meeting, but not yet completed your Viva<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are available from 3pm on 14th June 2023 (on campus) to take part in the final<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are available on 19th April 2023 for auditions on campus, 16th May 2023 (AM) for online training, and 2nd June 2023 (09:00-15:00, on campus) for a review session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find out what it takes to win and secure your place at the 3MT National Finals &#8211;\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/research\/events\/three-minute-thesis\/2022\/\" target=\"_blank\">Learn more about our 202<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/research\/events\/three-minute-thesis\/2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/research\/events\/three-minute-thesis\/2022\/\" target=\"_blank\"> 3MT winners<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Interested in applying for 3MT, but unsure where to start?
