Do you want an opportunity to share your research beyond academia, get valuable Public Engagement experience, and maybe even win a prize?

The York Graduate Research School<\/a> (YGRS) invites you to apply to take part in PhD Spotlight 2024<\/a>, part of the prestigious YorkTalks<\/a> event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re looking for Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs i.e. PhD, MPhil and Masters by Research candidates) to take part in a live event, where you\u2019ll create a display or interactive experience that communicates your research to the public in creative and accessible ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous finalists<\/a> have recreated a crime scene, encouraged people to play video games, and showcased live experiments – the more creative and engaging, the better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as the opportunity to showcase your research, your display will be judged by an experienced panel, with the top 3 receiving a prize!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finalists will be notified on 22nd November, and you\u2019ll need to be available all day on Wednesday 10th January 2024 for the final. We can offer a small budget for props.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
