{"id":753,"date":"2021-05-10T14:34:46","date_gmt":"2021-05-10T13:34:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/research-student-community\/?p=753"},"modified":"2021-05-10T14:34:48","modified_gmt":"2021-05-10T13:34:48","slug":"enter-the-york-open-research-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/research-student-community\/2021\/05\/10\/enter-the-york-open-research-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Enter the York Open Research Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have you been involved in a recent or ongoing project or initiative which has engaged with, reflected upon or advocated for open research practices and principles?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This could include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Peer-led discussion groups or clubs focusing on issues relating to open research in your discipline (or beyond)<\/li><li>Embedding open research practices and principles in teaching or supervising activities<\/li><li>Innovative approaches to public participation in research, e.g. interactive digital exhibitions and storytelling or Citizen Science<\/li><li>Dedication to transparent and reproducible research, e.g. preregistration, registered reports and data, code or lab notebook sharing<\/li><li>Commitment to creating and building upon sustainable and open source research software<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of\u00a0<strong>18 prizes<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>\u00a3200 each<\/strong>\u00a0will be awarded to research projects and training or advocacy initiatives from each Faculty (Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences). The judging panel may also decide to award additional prizes or offer funding to help develop your project or initiative.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These awards have been made possible thanks to a generous grant from\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wellcome.org\/what-we-do\/our-work\/open-research\" target=\"_blank\">Wellcome Open Research<\/a>\u00a0and match funding from the University Research Development Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/Jr9Pm3BgHibryrWD6\" target=\"_blank\">submission form<\/a>\u00a0is open until midday on\u00a0<strong>Friday 4 June 2021<\/strong>.
