This allows you to acquire the knowledge and skills to establish yourself as a confident, enthusiastic and effective teacher and is an induction into Higher Education teaching and into working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Led by Academic Practice, there are three different Introduction to Teaching and Learning workshops:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Facilitating seminars and discussion-based learning<\/li><li>Facilitating practical and laboratory demonstrations<\/li><li>Facilitating problem-solving sessions<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each workshop consists of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>a <strong>two-week self-study component<\/strong> (total approx. 6 hours) to complete before the<\/li><li><strong>in-person seminar<\/strong> (1.5 hours).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information, including which workshop to complete, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/staff\/teaching\/develop\/introduction-teaching-learning\/\"><strong>Introduction to Teaching and Learning<\/strong><\/a> web page.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Before you can teach, you will need to complete our Introduction to Teaching and Learning\u00a0course.
