I also got exam results and chose my modules too, which I can&#8217;t imagine being an interesting topic to anybody but if you have a question then just leave a comment and I&#8217;ll happily answer it.<\/div>\n<h3>So first of all, <b>houses!<\/b><\/h3>\n<div>People do different things when it comes to housing. For me, the group of people I have been with so far have all got on really well; so, between the ten of us, we&#8217;ve decided to get two houses near to each other for next year! We already know what it&#8217;s like to live with each other which\u00a0is pretty handy.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>A few things to know:<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>At York, people generally don&#8217;t start signing for houses until the start of term two which is different\u00a0to what I&#8217;ve heard other universities are like. This is pretty great since you get more time to decide who you want to live with for the next year!<\/li>\n<li>Lots of people stay on campus, which has lots of perks, so it&#8217;s worth looking into that as well. A lot of Natural Scientists are staying in James College accommodation and are living alongside each other in the same block, which is cool!<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s loads of choice and it&#8217;s all reasonably priced (remember to ask about bills, energy ratings and talking to the current tenants about how they find it)! The sort of thing we went for was a house on Hull Road &#8211; which is nice and close to the uni &#8211; with similarly sized double bedrooms (this means\u00a0that some people didn&#8217;t have to pay more than others).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Food<\/h3>\n<div>If you&#8217;re in catered accommodation, it&#8217;s easy to get lazy and unhealthy with food at the weekends but DON&#8217;T! Go to Aldi, get some great deals, make a plate of deliciousness and be proud of yourself! I seem to be one of the few people who remembered to bring essential utensils here which is a blessing as well as a curse. If you don&#8217;t mind your\u00a0colander becoming the communal one then bring it along and it&#8217;ll be very much appreciated, as I have learnt!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Things to bring:<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Chopping board (mine has a handle so it is otherwise known as a cricket bat by my flatmates)<\/li>\n<li>Vegetable knife<\/li>\n<li>Peeler<\/li>\n<li>Colander and sieve<\/li>\n<li>Saucepan, frying pan (borrow other people&#8217;s if you need more than one for a particular meal)<\/li>\n<li>Tin opener<\/li>\n<li>Toastie maker!!!!!
