I studied <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/study\/undergraduate\/courses\/ba-philosophy-politics-economics-ppe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BA (Hons) Philosophy, Politics and Economics<\/a> (PPE) at York, and I&#8217;m graduating in 2022. After my graduation, I&#8217;ll be moving to London, having accepted an offer on Deloitte\u2019s Consulting graduate programme as a Business Transformation Analyst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Finding my course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking back, I\u2019d always been studious, wanting to understand how the world around me worked. I\u2019d really enjoyed my Economics A level, but wanted to study a wide variety of topics, so I set my sights on studying PPE. It was when researching top PPE programmes in the UK that I came to learn about York\u2019s course. When I visited York for the first time after applying at a Post-Offer Visit Day, I knew this is where I wanted to continue my studies. The combination of the course, the campus and the city itself were what convinced me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Feels like home<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking back, I don\u2019t really know what I was expecting of university, but I do remember some things I found surprising. I\u2019d always been a keen rugby player, but knew nothing about the amazing college-sport system here at York. Off the back of a two-year injury at the first taster session, if you\u2019d told me I\u2019d meet some of my best friends and be the President of the club in my final year, I\u2019m not sure I&#8217;d have believed you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secondly, how quickly I felt at home in York is something that sticks with me. As I went home after my first term, I couldn\u2019t believe how excited I was to come back after just ten weeks living and studying here. I think university is what you make of it. I\u2019m really grateful to have thrown myself into every opportunity I\u2019ve had here, and I think that\u2019s what made York my home. I think for many people, the worry really is about homesickness and whether you\u2019ll fit in \u2013 and that&#8217;s before you even talk about the challenge of studying for a degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking back at lasting memories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can honestly say the atmosphere at York is so supportive; there&#8217;s a sense of community, with everyone able to find a society or group of friends where they really feel welcome. All that helps manage the stress that studying towards a degree can sometimes put on you. My biggest top tip would probably be to try as hard as you can to give things a chance. Whether trying a new sport or activity, or continuing with an old hobby, it&#8217;s through getting involved alongside everything else that you\u2019ll truly feel at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being the President of a club I&#8217;m so proud to be a part of has been a real highlight, but so has spending time with all my fantastic friends \u2013 whether that be training down on 22 Acres, grabbing a coffee after a lecture, or enjoying some drinks at one of York\u2019s many, many bars and pubs! Looking back now, and looking ahead to what\u2019s next for me, I am so glad to have met all the amazing people who have really defined my university experience. I\u2019ve really enjoyed the challenging and varied nature of PPE (which I know isn\u2019t for everyone!), but I\u2019ve also enjoyed every second of my time living in York.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, I\u2019m Morgan!
