In this post, I’ll share with you some advice and things to keep in mind before you start university! Moving to university can feel overwhelming, but being prepared and organised will make your journey a lot less stressful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prepare<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. To make things less stressful and overwhelming when arriving at university, you can prepare by setting up any IT accounts, completing your enrollment and sorting out any important documents<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. It is also helpful to follow the university\u2019s social media accounts<\/strong> (such as accommodation colleges) to keep updated with their events. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      1. To be extra prepared for Freshers’ Week, you can buy student bus tickets from the FirstBus app in advance<\/strong> before you arrive.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Campus East<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

        Organise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
          \n
        1. Freshers’ Week is full of activities. I found that what helped me keep track of events was noting down all the Freshers’ activities on my calendar<\/strong>. I found this super useful as I could clearly see which days were the busiest. This helped me schedule important events such as course introductions and welcome talks. It is also useful to sync your university timetable to your digital calendar<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          1. Print out all important documents and keep digital copies of them<\/strong>. This might come in handy later on in the year if you have forgotten to bring a physical copy of a document with you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
              \n
            1. Since Freshers’ Week is a busy week, it is a good idea to have some meal recipe ideas<\/a> in mind that are quick and easy<\/strong>. This will save you some time when you have a busy schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                \n
              1. Linking to the previous tip, I found it extremely helpful to do a food shop on the day of arrival<\/strong>. Buy groceries and (a lot of) snacks that will last you throughout Freshers’ Week. You may be tired or not have enough time to do a full food shop during the week so having some essentials is useful.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                These are some small things that I did before arriving at university that made the first few weeks feel less hectic. Being a little more organised and prepared will help you feel less anxious so you can make the most out of your time!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
