Congratulations on receiving an offer to study at York! Visit days for offer holders<\/a>, otherwise known as ‘visit days’, are a great way to get to know a university better. I would say that visit days<\/span> are super helpful for two main reasons. Firstly, you can visit departments, colleges<\/a> or other university buildings. Secondly, you can chat with staff and students about any questions you may have! Read on to find out why you should book a visit day for offer holders<\/span> and some top tips for your visit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why should you book?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Visit days are a great chance to see the university again, which can really help you decide where you want to go. By talking to academics, staff members and current students, you can get a real flavour of what to expect if you enrol there in the autumn! Maybe you have thought of new questions to ask since you last visited, or maybe you never got the chance to visit! Visit days for offer holders can really help you narrow down your options and resolve any queries you may have. By seeing the university again, you can get a good feel of whether that institution is for you. Online and virtual resources are great, but I think you can learn so much more by seeing a place in person! <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three top tips!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. Have some questions prepared before visiting! <\/strong>You get the opportunity to ask tailored questions and get back specific responses, that could have a big impact on where you decide to go. Also, you get to make a good impression on your potential future tutors! The worst thing is thinking of a question you wanted to ask on the way home! Don’t worry if this happens, there should always be someone you can contact remotely. Perhaps even ask for someone’s contact details for if you think of any other questions.<\/span><\/li>
  2. If you can, maybe stay over in the place you\u2019re visiting for a few days!<\/strong> By seeing more of the city\/town, you will be able to see the \u2018living\u2019 side of your university location! By seeing which shops, restaurants, events, and facilities are available to you in the wider city, you can get even more insight into whether that place is right for you.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  3. Print off a programme for the day! <\/strong>Hopefully, your department will let you know in advance what they are hosting, so if they do, plan what you want to attend! That way you can be very efficient on the day and see all that you want to.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Visit days for offer holders are incredibly helpful, but if you can\u2019t attend them, it\u2019s not the end of the world! There are always ways to contact universities remotely, and by accessing resources like virtual tours<\/a>, you can still get to see the environment that you might be studying in!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
