The novelty of life at university is wearing off for first years, assessment deadlines are looming, second years are getting ready to submit their first essays\u00a0that &#8216;count&#8217; and for third years the pressure is really on!\u00a0Although the nights are drawing in and an extra layer (or two) is needed to step out of the house, it&#8217;s nearly Christmas time and that means good things! York is a magical place to be around Christmas time, the entire city is dressed in lights. I could not recommend enough, taking a break from studying or essay writing to spend an afternoon in town soaking up the festivities! This year however will be the first time I&#8217;ll have to juggle essay writing as well as a part time job so it&#8217;s incredibly important that I get as much done during term time to ensure I&#8217;m able to give myself a few days off over the break. Winter in York is my absolute favourite time of the year and one of the many reasons I&#8217;m glad I chose to study at the University of York!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The end of term one at York can a busy time for Sociology students.
