Hi! My name’s Morgan and I’m a 2nd Year Biology student. Here’s my results day story:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ended up being on holiday for results day \u2013 both fortunately and unfortunately! Realising that I wasn\u2019t going to be in the same country as my school, the universities I might have to talk to and my friends, was daunting, to say the least.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Results day started in a less than positive way <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My friend and I had agreed to FaceTime until a few minutes before UCAS opened; to calm each other down and reassure ourselves that whatever happened, things would ultimately be okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But UCAS ended up opening early and suddenly my friend was telling me she hadn\u2019t made her firm choice. Having my best friend on the phone distraught that she hadn\u2019t made her offer wasn\u2019t exactly what I had in mind and it didn\u2019t exactly put me in the best mindset to check my own track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I psyched myself up and opened UCAS. The message saying that my firm choice of York had been confirmed was received with primarily relief. But I was still completely devastated for my friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A day filled with stories of success and disappointment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of the day, my friends and I confirmed with each other where we would be going. I celebrated with those who had made their firm choice offers and supported those who were going through clearing and were still searching for a university place. The day was filled with stories of success and disappointment. But gradually everyone took up offers they were happy with, regardless of whether it was their original plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My school called every student on results day to talk through grades and help any individuals who still had not been accepted on a course. Your school genuinely wants what is best for you. They’ll help you to the best of their ability if things don\u2019t go your way. It\u2019s important to remember that they\u2019re faced with this situation every year and are well versed in supporting students on results day, and beyond, if necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
