Located on Blake Street next to &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/yorkshiresoap.co.uk\/\">The Yorkshire Soap Company<\/a>&#8216;, this shop is filled with whimsical trinkets and stunning curiosities. Step right in and you&#8217;ll be transported to a magical land filled with odd items and a mysterious ambiance. but I&#8217;m here to tell you to get lunch in this quaint <a href=\"https:\/\/cafeno8.co.uk\/\">bistro<\/a> hidden outside the walls of York. The warmth and coziness of this bistro greets you as soon as you enter. Have I mentioned that they also have a secret garden with a view of the York City Walls? Their dishes are some of the best I&#8217;ve ever had. From their risotto to their couscous, you can never go wrong! Every plate is carefully made with love and quality; trust me when I say that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>York Museum Gardens<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/student-voices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/05\/20190411_101613-min49.jpg?resize=402%2C536\" alt=\"20190411_101613-min.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-7008\" width=\"402\" height=\"536\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will probably pass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorkshiremuseum.org.uk\/york-museum-gardens\/\">this spot<\/a> on your way to <a href=\"https:\/\/yorkminster.org\/\">York Minster<\/a> from the train station, but do not hesitate to enter. Inside is a beautiful garden that is full of blooms during spring and the ruins of St. Mary&#8217;s Abbey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s the perfect place to relax and stretch out your legs, or maybe consider visiting during warmer seasons to have a picnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Blue Barbakan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/student-voices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/05\/20190508_184326-min.jpg?resize=444%2C333\" alt=\"20190508_184326-min.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-7009\" width=\"444\" height=\"333\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another one of my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluebarbakan.co.uk\/\">favourite restaurants<\/a> in town; this time it&#8217;s Polish food. Located on Fossgate, just a stone&#8217;s throw away from the city centre, this restaurant serves impeccable Polish food with a twist. You can visit them for breakfast and have their amazing Full English, or maybe go for lunch and get the Hungarian Potato Pancake with Goulash. Don&#8217;t forget to end it with some cakes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Botanic<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.york.ac.uk\/student-voices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2020\/05\/20191012_155250-min.jpg?resize=447%2C596\" alt=\"20191012_155250-min.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-7011\" width=\"447\" height=\"596\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last but not least is my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.botanicyork.co.uk\/\">go-to shop for plants<\/a>. What better way to decorate and spice up your room with some houseplants? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not only do they sell adorable succulents, but they also have interesting plants as well (maybe some of you want a venus flytrap for your room). They also have larger houseplants such as the &#8216;monstera&#8217; for sale, so make sure you give this shop in Walmgate a drop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s just so many things to do and discover in York, and I&#8217;ve only given you the tip of the iceberg on what this city has to offer.
