There are many reasons why applying for a scholarship is a great decision for your future. At York, there are many different scholarships that you can apply for, whether you are an undergraduate<\/a>, postgraduate taught<\/a> or postgraduate research student<\/a>. There are also funding opportunities that are specific to international students<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process of applying makes great practice for thinking about your strengths. It\u2019s also a good way to prepare for job applications and interviews. But, more importantly, a scholarship can help you on your way to success. It can provide you with funding and support during your degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many international students have been successful in their scholarship applications at York. So who best to tell you about how it\u2019s made a difference than the students themselves?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWithout this scholarship I would not be here studying my Masters degree.\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was granted the CONACYT scholarship by the Mexican government. Without this scholarship I would not be here studying my Masters degree. This scholarship gave me the opportunity to study abroad and not worry about how I would survive in another country. It gave me the freedom to focus just on my university studies and enjoy my international student life in the UK. The Scholarship is granted to Mexican citizens who want to study at postgraduate level abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt has without a doubt enriched and enhanced my student experience in York.\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been granted the Sharifah Sofia Albukhary scholarship. It has without a doubt enriched and enhanced my student experience in York. I am able to fully utilise the funding by participating in several academic and social activities. This includes study trips organised by the Club of Politics, Economics and Philosophy (PEP). For example, the Club of PEP organised a trip to Athens this academic year and I\u2019ve had the opportunity to take part in it. These opportunities are especially meaningful to me. It provides a platform to be closer to the community, filled with passionate and enthusiastic students. Exchanging perspectives and providing constructive views are all part of the learning process in achieving a greater understanding of my disciplines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has made an immense difference in my university experience because without it, there wouldn\u2019t have been a university experience. This has taken a huge burden off my shoulders and given me the opportunity to completely focus on my studies.\u201d

This scholarship has had a significant contribution to my academic life and personal development because I do not think that I could afford to study in such prestigious universities. Additionally, the scholarship has helped me cover my living and other costs during my study.
