As I write this, I have just got back from photographing designer jewellery, clothes, and a shirt signed by tennis champion, Novak Djokovic, in a girl’s Goodricke bedroom. The items are all being entered into a charity auction to raise money for various refugee causes, as part of fashion event, The Northern Youth<\/a>. The show itself will be held in Central Hall and is all organised by members of the University of York’s student-run magazine, Hard<\/a>. I’m really excited as on Friday, I will be part of the photography team for the event, which includes a talk from none other than iconic fashion mogul and Editor-in-Chief of US Vogue, Anna Wintour.<\/p>\n

\"Screen<\/a>\"Screen<\/a><\/p>\n

The last week in York has been a totally manic one for me. Aside from shooting\u00a0beautiful fashion items, I also had the pleasure of photographing the new Langwith College committee<\/a> for this academic year, including their Events, Welfare and Executive teams. As a member of Langwith\u00a0myself, it’s nice to still be able to feel part of the community even when not living on campus.<\/p>\n

I’ve also attended various events within my academic department, TFTV (Theatre, Film & Television), including participating in the student-run Writer’s Circle, a talk from one of Britain’s most established comedy writing partnerships, Marks and Gran (Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran), as well as a Q&A session with Oscar nominated writer and producer (and one of my personal favourite satirists), Armando Iannucci. There’s always a million things to do\u00a0here, and though it can be completely exhausting sometimes, I think it’s important to make the most of all the opportunities you can throw yourself at.<\/p>\n

This week I’ve also received two amazing bits of news. Last term, I worked in the Catalyst building on Heslington East as an Edit Assistant for a new BBC One Programme, Emergency Rescue Down Under<\/a>, for Air TV. I had a wonderful time working with the team and today, the first episode was broadcast and I received my first ever television credit!<\/p>\n

\"Screen<\/a><\/p>\n

I also found out that I have won the University of York Digital Leaders competition<\/a>! I attended a panel interview a couple of weeks ago and I’m really pleased to announce that I will be receiving one of the awards. The\u00a0first meeting about it should be held sometime this week and I can’t wait to get started.<\/p>\n

Aside from all of that, I’ve also been working very hard for second year. I’m studying for a BSc degree in Film and Television Production, and just this week alone I’ll be writing a treatment for a half an hour film, planning for a 8-minute short, as well as directing a 20 minute studio television programme.<\/p>\n

At the moment, I am living, breathing and even dreaming about film and TV work, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
