Selecting the right course to study<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I have always being very interested and excited <\/span>to attend university, to learn more about my favourite subject – Politics. Choosing York was an easy decision for me. In Year 12, I <\/span>had already decided on an International Relations course <\/span>due to my interests in global politics<\/span>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my A Levels, I studied History, English Literature and Politics, which gave me essay writing, critical analysis and reading skills. I have found these skills to be extremely useful in studying Politics at university.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applying for and accepting a university<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Upon submitting my UCAS application, I was really anxious about which universities would accept me. A week later, York offered me an unconditional offer and because it was the course I was the most interested in, I firmed the offer. This meant I had already confirmed my place in December before some people had even submitted their applications! Although, I still had my exams to go through in the summer<\/span> and was very keen to do well. I<\/span> felt strange knowing I had secured my place but also, much more at ease. I was able to concentrate on my exams in a calm, collected manner. <\/span>Also, I took the time to start start researching all about the city of York<\/a> and campus<\/a> I was going to spend my next 3 years in.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next chapter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After months of revision and the dreaded exam season, I was finally able to relax for my summer! I went out with friends and enjoyed myself for the last few months I had living in my hometown. Results day finally came around and I was very eager to find out what my results were. It was a day full of so much emotion and even though I already knew where I was going, I was still there to support my friends and celebrate. It was great to make the most of the last time I was going to be at sixth form. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast forward to September, I was nervous but excited for a new chapter in my life. Choosing York was the right choice for me, I immediately loved my course and had a really fun filled freshers week. I met so many new people, some of whom are my best mates tod<\/span>ay!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
