Hi everyone! I’m Sophia and I’m in my second year studying Psychology at the University of York. We have a large yet really close-knit community in our department, giving us the opportunity to get to know – and even work with – a range of researchers who are working on studies to investigate cutting-edge topics in psychology and find things out that haven’t ever been found before. I’ve written a blog for you which tells you about my experiences as a student, specifically regarding how the department supports you with your journey to becoming an independent researcher. Hopefully this will reassure you that you will be very well-supported as you transition into being a successful university student who – very excitingly – can conduct their own research!
