Our videographer Joe has been with us for a number of years working on a wide variety of projects, ranging from accommodation, graduation, York Unlimited, departmental projects, and the list goes on… and on!

Promoting Philosophy by provoking thought

In the lead up to this year’s recruitment events we identified video as a way of showcasing our Department of Philosophy. We set out to make engaging content to intrigue viewers and get them thinking about the issues they could explore through the lens of Philosophy.

Filming the science of seabed recovery

To promote some of York’s great research, I travelled to the Isle of Arran to film a mini documentary about a ten-year research project that has seen a dramatic revival in marine life.

Pointing a lens at what makes our student accommodation stand out

Earlier in the year, our videographer Joe and I were sent the request to ‘make an accommodation video’. Aside from the obvious questions of ‘why’ and ‘of what’, we asked ourselves: what really makes accommodation at York different?

Who better to tell us than the people currently living in it? What we ended up with was an accommodation video that didn’t really feature much accommodation in at all.

New video for York Unlimited Giving Day

We’re excited about York’s first ever Giving Day which is taking place in November. Our videographer Joe Burn worked with the Office of Philanthropic Partnerships and Alumni (OPPA) to help spread the word.
