This spring term, management students in our year will have a high workload as we are going to complete four modules in this semester. Basically, we are taking two modules in our autumn term and four modules in our spring term and we will have more of a focus on revision in the summer term. The reason for arranging two modules in autumn term is because our department supports students to spend more time on job seeking and internships in the first term and more time studying in the following two terms.
Spring term for me is not only going to be a high workload term, but also the term where I plan for my summer holiday. This year I am planning to attend a summer school in Seoul National University as I wish to build my future career in South Korea. Our university has provided us with an opportunity to apply for scholarships in some summer school institutions. The Careers team hosted a Summer Opportunities Fair to introduce us to different summer options, such as summer internship opportunities, school programmes and more.
The York Management School hosted this fair in the Ron Cooke Hub. There were a range of organisations visiting us to talk about their summer programmes and placements on offer. These are not only based in the UK, but are all around the world. It was great for international students as well as home students. The opportunities presented are a really good opportunity for you to gain some precious experience during your summer break.
Last but not least, let me introduce you one of my favourite restaurants like in my previous post. This time I am going to introduce you to a cafe where I often spend my time.
It is situated in the city centre near the Minister. They mainly do sandwiches and some all day breakfasts and cakes. My favourite dish is the scrambled egg and smoked salmon. This cafe not only sells delicious food, but also the people there are really friendly. It is a very good place for me to spend my whole afternoon there to complete some of my assignments with some tasty food.
