9am
Lecture
I’m up early ready for my lectures. First, I have a lecture on High Medieval Literature. Then I have my fortnightly dissertation meeting followed by a CV tips lecture.
12pm
Lunch at a campus bar
I meet my coursemates for lunch. Today, we go to Courtyard for a burger and chat about our plans for tonight. BandSoc are setting up a charity open-mic night!
1pm
Seminar
I head to my seminar on American Independent Film. In groups, we talk about the context of this week’s film screening. We then have a discussion where our tutor asks us questions.
3pm
Coffee with friends
I head to a coffee shop in town to do a group study session with some friends from my college. I’m working on my slides for a group presentation on “The Song of Roland.”
6pm
Swim practice
I get the 66 bus to Campus East to the York Sports Village where I swim with the York Swimming Club. I do fifty lengths of breast crawl and a relay race with my team.
8pm
Pub quiz and dinner
My housemates and I go to a pub quiz at The Old White Swan and chat about our day over a roast dinner. There’s practically a quiz every day in the abundance of pubs York has to offer.
10pm
House party
I meet my coursemates and we head to a house party for our friend’s birthday. We dance the night away and head into town afterwards to a YUSU (York University Students’ Union) club night.
