At the end of July (w/c 27 July) we are replacing Careers Gateway with Handshake – a new platform for appointment booking, connecting with employers and looking for vacancies, event information and more.
You already have an account in Handshake, as we have transferred all student accounts from Careers Gateway to the new platform. However, you will need to activate your account in Handshake as soon as possible.
When you log in you need to set your account’s privacy settings. The settings are:
Community – your profile is visible to employers, students and alumni across all UK Universities using Handshake
Employers – your profile will be visible to employers and Careers and Placements staff
Private – your profile will only be visible to yourself and Careers and Placements staff
Please see your profile options for further information about these settings and the potential benefits of each setting.
Once appointments are set up in Handshake, to book an appointment, you will first need to select your category: Postgraduate Researcher, to see the range of appointments available to you, and then click on the appointment of your choice to see availability and book.
