Wentworth College are running free online writing retreats for postgraduate students and researchers.
The aim of the retreat is to give dedicated writing time to those in need of progressing their projects, providing a supportive environment and an opportunity to share good writing practice with other writers.
Example projects include book or thesis chapters, journal articles, research proposals, conference abstracts/papers, reports, etc.
Combining the Rowena Murray ‘typing pool’ model with the Pomodoro technique, the event will include writing and planning activities, followed by intense, short periods of writing, and structured breaks that include movement activities.
- Provides dedicated writing time – all you are doing is writing
- Opportunities for goal setting and planning
- Writing together helps maintain the structure
- Frequent breaks helps maintain focus and improves motivation
The session is from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
