Call for abstracts: Graduate Queer Symposium

The GSA LGBTQ Network will host a virtual Graduate Queer Symposium in the final week of Pride Month (21-27 June).

The GSA wants to highlight and support the important research that postgraduates at the University of York are undertaking in the fields of gender, sexuality, and queerness. The symposium is a chance for students to present their current research in the form of short presentations (15-20 minutes) and learn from their peers. The event will be held over Zoom in line with current Covid restrictions.

All postgraduate students – PhDs, taught masters, and research masters – from all faculties and disciplines are invited to present their work. They are looking for any research that addresses issues relating to queer life, culture, politics, and thought.

This will be a casual, warm event – an opportunity to celebrate York’s intellectual community and all the wonderful queer research being done behind closed doors. By presenting, you’ll get the chance to share your current research, practise your presenting skills, and get some (hopefully!) insightful questions from other students.
