Self-funded PhD students can apply for funding to attend research training events when other funding options have been exhausted.
The fund may be bid into to support attendance at conferences held either in or outside the UK. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the relevance of the conference to their specific PhD project and what they aim to achieve from the experience (e.g. dissemination of results, networking with key research leaders, impact), and their supervisor will be asked to confirm this. It will normally be a requirement that applicants are presenting their research at the conference.
The closing date for the next round of funding is midnight on 1 December 2022.
