The University of York Induction for new Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs i.e. PhD, MPhil and Masters by Research students) hosted by York Graduate Research School (YGRS) will take place on Wednesday 4 October 13:00-15:30 in the Spring Lane Building (Lecture Theatre SLB/118).

The York Graduate Research School (YGRS) Induction event is designed to provide you with essential information, practical advice, and an opportunity to meet other new researchers from across the University.
Here’s what the event will feature:
Welcome from the Dean of the York Graduate Research School: Opening the event, Professor Kate Arnold will provide you with an introduction to studying for a research degree at the University of York.
YGRS Showcase: We’ll show you where to find essential information, opportunities and support available to you throughout your research journey.
Getting started with your research: We’ll share practical advice on how to plan ahead, navigate potential challenges and connect with others across the YGRS and wider University community. We will also hear advice from current postgraduate researchers to help you get started and make the most of your time at York.
‘Any Questions’ panel discussion: Our panel of postgraduate researchers and University staff will answer any question you might have about doing a research degree at York. Submit your questions in advance to our YGRS Induction Padlet.
Refreshments and mingle: Enjoy refreshments, learn more about support available and take the opportunity to chat to one another in a welcoming space.
