We are excited to invite you to participate in YCEDE’s Circle Mentoring programme for PGRs, taking place online on Thursday 22nd August, 5-7pm.
Our circle mentoring session offers the unique opportunity to connect with a small group of fellow PGRs and benefit from the insights of 2-3 mentors with experience in the field of science communications, marketing and people science.
Our mentors for this session will be:
- Sarah Sabir – After completing her PhD in Biochemistry and Cancer Research, and building her expertise through further postdoctoral research, Sarah transitioned her skills to the field of medical writing and communications, now working as a Communications Consultant at Oxford PharmaGensis.
- Karolina Urbanska – With a PhD in Psychology and extensive expertise in social psychology, Karolina holds over 10 years of experience as a people research scientist across academia, charity, and consulting sectors.
- Jenna Spencer-Briggs – Following a PhD in Chemistry and spending time working as a teacher, Jenna moved away from academia and into science communications and marketing, doing both scientific content writing and marketing management.
In order to align with YCEDE aims, circle mentoring is open only to UK Home Fee-Paying PGRs from racially-marginalised backgrounds who are from YCEDE partner universities (Bradford, Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam, York, and Leeds).
