Are you exploring opportunities outside academia ? Our recruitment fairs on 9th – 11th October are a great opportunity to find out about graduate schemes with major UK recruiters and to do some research into different types of jobs and employment sectors. The fairs all take place in the Exhibition Centre, Campus West:
- Law Fair – 9th October, 12.30 – 16.30
- Graduate Jobs and Placements Fair, 10th and 11th October, 11.00-15.00
Find out more about the fairs and the employers that are attending each day on the Careers website. While most don’t have specific schemes for postgraduates, several have indicated that they have an interest in recruiting them, including Fera Science, Cambridge Consulting, Frazer Nash, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Newton, the Civil Service, ACM Global Laboratories, Costello Medical and EY. Many employers have schemes that recruit graduates from any degree discipline.
Also at the fairs you will find:
- CV Reviews – have a short review with a member of the Careers team
- LinkedIn photos – get a professional photo taken for your online profile
- Work Wardrobe – if you need a professional outfit for work or interviews, choose from items donated by York Cares employer partners
- Careers and Placements stand – for information and advice
Researchers are welcome at the fairs, but be aware that most employers will be promoting graduate schemes with start dates in late summer 2025.
