Do you want an opportunity to share your research beyond academia, get valuable Public Engagement experience, and maybe even win a prize?
Apply to take part in PhD Spotlight 2023, part of the prestigious YorkTalks event.
We’re looking for 10 PhD Students to take part in a live event, where you’ll create a display or interactive experience that communicates your research to the public in creative and accessible ways.
Previous finalists have recreated a crime scene, encouraged people to play video games, and showcased live experiments – the more creative and engaging, the better!
As well as the opportunity to showcase your research, your display will be judged by an experienced panel, with the top 3 receiving a prize!
See the PhD Spotlight page for criteria & further details, and apply here.
Finalists will be notified on 19th December, and you’ll need to be available all day on Wednesday 11th January 2023. You’ll need to have your display set up by 9am in the Ron Cooke Hub atrium. We can offer a small budget for props.
Please email bric@york.ac.uk with any questions, and we look forward to seeing your applications!
