The Maths Skills Centre are recruiting PhD students to help with drop-in maths support sessions for undergraduates.
Tutors are not expected to be experts in all aspects of Maths or Statistics but you must be able to explain complex topics and ideas clearly and adjust your advice to different levels of student understanding.
This is a great addition to your CV, demonstrating teaching experience outside tutorials.
Pay is at the GTA demonstration rate of £13.71 (plus holiday pay entitlement).
Hours can be agreed that do not affect your studies – typically 2-4 hours per week during term-time in 2-hour blocks.
