What’s it like to be a Senior Civil Servant: Charlotte’s Story

Join Careers and Placements on Mon 3rd Feb for a fascinating evening of keynote talks and a chance to network with senior figures from the UK Civil Service.

Our keynote speaker is Charlotte Baker, who joined the Civil Service Fast Stream in 2008. During her career she has worked in a range of policy roles in the Ministry of Justice and spent 3 years working for the Cabinet Office on Home Affairs and Constitutional Policy. Most recently she has been working for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, supporting the response to the Grenfell fire tragedy and leading the Government’s approach to Housing and Home Ownership.

York alumni currently on the Civil Service Fast Stream will also be present, and the speakers will talk about their careers and the opportunities and challenges they have faced. The talks will be followed by the opportunity to chat informally with our speakers.
