Careers and Placements are recruiting a team of postgraduates to help facilitate Community Projects over Autumn and Spring term for the academic year 2021/22. These are part time, paid roles and would suit those who are interested in developing their teaching experience and/or gaining experience in heritage, sustainability or charity sectors.
Community Projects will be delivered by teams of undergraduate volunteers, and the role of the postgraduate facilitator is to help the team work together to deliver their project. For full details discover the projects here.
As a facilitator you will gain experience of coaching, leadership and project management. Full training and ongoing support will be provided by the Volunteering team in Careers and Placements. Projects will take place with a blend of online and in person activity.
We have 3 roles on offer:
Digital Marketing Community Projects Facilitator: Support undergraduate teams to create engaging digital media to support community partners including RSPCA York, Yorkshire Energy Dr, York CVS and Refill Kitchen. Part time, total 37 hours over Autumn and Spring term.
Community Sustainability Champions Community Projects Facilitator: Support undergraduate teams to get a range of small tourism focused organisations started on their journey to be more sustainable, through the creation of an action plan. Part time, 18 hours total over Autumn term.
HERStory Community Projects Facilitator: Support undergraduate teams to research histories of York’s forgotten women, in partnership with HERStory and York Museums Trust. Part time, 18 hours total over Autumn term.
