British Library Doctoral Open Days open for bookings

The British Library Doctoral Open Days are aimed at first-year PhD students to explain the practicalities of using the Library and accessing its resources.

To make the Open Days more easily accessible to PhD students nationally, the 2022 events series is largely delivered online. The webinars take place every Wednesday afternoon between 12 January and 2 March 2022. The series will begin with a general introduction, followed by seven additional events exploring more specific collection areas and resources.

Two practical on-site events will enable students to obtain their Reader Pass and meet fellow students and Library curators.  Included in the days will be a tour of the St Pancras building and highlights of the Library’s Collections. These events will be open to those who have attended at least one webinar.

It is strongly recommend that all PhD students attend the first module Getting Started: Researching at the British Library on 12 January 2022. Students are then welcome to join as many of the other modules as they are interested in. All modules are free to attend. Places for the on-site events will be limited.
