The University is providing funding for three PhD students to undertake a policy internship within the government’s Open Innovation Team (OIT).
The OIT is a cross-government unit that works with experts to generate analysis and ideas for policy. In addition to its growing team of permanent civil servants, there are opportunities for PhD students to work with them and help support their work on a three-month placement. These students work alongside permanent staff, helping input on policy projects and also contributing to team development.
At this event Dr Ben Taylor, one of the Deputy Heads of the team, will talk through what the placements have to offer to PhD students at the University of York, what the team is looking for, and will answer any questions prospective applicants might have.
The session will take place over Zoom. You can sign up and find out more information, including answers to frequently asked questions, via handshake.
