Teaching in Sociology

Applications are open for University of York PGRs interested in being a GTA in the Sociology department for the next academic year.

They’re looking for GTAs to facilitate seminars on their preferred module from any of the four first-year undergraduate modules:

  • Cultivating a Sociological Imagination;
  • Sociology of Crime and Deviance;
  • Introduction to Sociological Theory;
  • Introducing Social Psychology.

They can offer a fixed term contract, friendly teaching teams, relevant training, interesting course content, and a great way to build your academic CV.

You’ll find the job advert, role description and person specification, and the application form in the GTA recruitment folder.

If you have any queries about these roles, or about the application process, please contact the GTA Coordinator, Carol Robinson (carol.robinson@york.ac.uk) or Dina Hashem from the professional services team –  sociology-gtas@york.ac.uk

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 30 May.

Interviews will be held on 27 and 28 June and all candidates will know the outcome of their application by early July.
