An update on PGR continuation fees

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, continuation fees for PGRs were waived from 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2021.

The continuation fee covers access to computing and library borrowing facilities after a PGR completes the normal period of enrolment and is no longer liable for tuition fees. It is charged for each new 12 month period entered post-normal period of registration. The current fee is £350 (rising to £390 from 2022/23). PGRs are entitled to a reimbursement of the full fee if they submit within three months of entering their continuation period.

Following approval from the YGRS Board in June 2022, it has been agreed that the continuation fee waiver will be reinstated for all PGRs to cover the period from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2022. This decision acknowledges the disruption to PGRs caused by the Covid-19 pandemic which means that more PGRs are needing to use their continuation period in order to complete their projects.

We are aware that some PGRs have already been invoiced for their fee. Please be reassured that plans are in place to reimburse you, but this might take a few months. We will be in touch with an update on the anticipated timeline in due course. In the meantime, we thank you for your patience.
