XR Network+ is running a free, part-time XR Accelerator for people working in extended reality (XR) and virtual production (VP) technologies at UK universities.
The programme is open to early-mid career researchers, late-stage PhD students and research-engaged technicians and provides a unique opportunity for participants to develop entrepreneurial skills, explore what goes into creating a tech product business and gain understanding of:
- IP emerging from research
- Commercial pathways and models
- Funding options
- Applying industry innovation methodologies
- Routes to impact
With a mix of online and in-person sessions, participants will break down barriers to the startup world and build valuable connections with other researchers working in virtual production and extended reality technologies.
The course starts with two intensive half-day workshops in central York on the afternoon of Monday 13 and morning of Tuesday 14 May. Weekly online workshops follow thereafter and the programme ends with another two in-person half-day sessions on Monday 17 (PM) and Tuesday 18 (AM) June. Participants are expected to commit to attending the in-person sessions and will need to book their own travel and accommodation but can claim back these expenses.
Visit the XR Network+ website to find out more about the accelerator and how to apply. Applications close at 23:59 on Friday 15 March.
