Disability Research at York – Informal Networking Meeting

Disability Research at York – Informal Networking Meeting
Wednesday 15 May, 2024, 12pm – 2pm
Hybrid event – D/K/102 or participate via Zoom

This is an initial informal networking meeting to bring together researchers (staff and PGRs) broadly engaged in disability research at York. We are aware that there is disability research (which may also encompass neurodiversity and autism studies, mental health and Mad Studies and more) taking place across several departments and research networks at the university, spanning Health Sciences, Sociology, Social Policy, Politics, Education, Archeology, English and elsewhere. However, there is rarely an opportunity to bring people together to learn from each other’s approaches, perspectives and disciplines. This meeting aims to bring people together for informal networking and to discuss the appetite for more regular meetings or future collaborations across different areas of work. Attendees will be asked to very briefly present their work and plug any networks, opportunities or upcoming events that might be of interest to others.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own lunch and eat whilst we are doing a round of short introductions. Closed captioning will be turned on in Zoom and in-person attendance is capped to maximise hybrid meeting conditions.

To confirm your attendance or register interest for future events, please fill out this Google form.
