The York Researcher Festival 2021

For a number of years the Research Excellence Training Team (RETT) has organised an annual conference for researchers. Now for 2021, we are proud to announce the York Researcher Festival – a two week celebration for all researchers here at York.

Running from Monday 20th September – Friday 1st October 2021, the Festival includes a wide variety of sessions, which all PGRs are warmly invited to take part in! The Festival coincides with National Postdoc Appreciation Week (20th – 24th September), and the National Postdoc Conference (24th September).

This inaugural Researcher Festival is an opportunity for us to collectively celebrate the contribution that early career researchers (PG researchers and postdocs) make to the research, culture and community at York. Week one focuses on the collaborations, relationships and issues that affect research – and incorporates the UK National Postdoc Conference being hosted by the University of Liverpool and N8 Universities. Week two explores the skills, professional development and mindset that support researchers in developing their careers. The festival provides opportunities for researchers to come together across disciplines to share experiences, learn, network and develop new skills.

We fully appreciate that this is a busy time for everyone, so the programme is designed to be fully modular – simply choose the sessions that you are most interested in!
