Careers Fairs – October 2021

Did you know that approximately 50% of PhD graduates develop their careers outside academia ? If you’re considering this option, or are curious to see what might be available, why not visit the recruitment fairs next week ? Employers attending will all have opportunities available on their graduate programmes for 2022, and these are open to postgraduate researchers too. The fairs will be online, giving you the chance to meet employers and discuss the opportunities available. 

Find out who’s attending

Use the Careers and Placements fairs webpages to find out more about the virtual fairs, including which employers are attending and how you can get the best experience. There are videos to show you what the day will look like, and details of how to get a 1:1 appointment or join a group session with an employer you’d like to know more about (booking essential).

Law fair  Wednesday 20th October

Includes law firms and law qualification training providers

Grad Jobs and Placements fair  Thursday 21st October

Includes a range of opportunities (broader business roles to specialist and technical) from employers in sectors that include: consultancy, finance, IT, education, science and engineering, social impact and public sector.

How to book 

Register for a place at the fair using the Fair links above. To book a 1:1 meeting with an employer or a group presentation:

  • Go to the fair event listing on Handshake
  • Click the ‘Available sessions’ tab to see what group and individual sessions employers are offering
  • Select the session you want to attend and click ‘Confirm’ to book
  • The booking will appear in your schedule.
