Research Assistant Internship with the Community Engaged Learning Team

This team is based in Careers and Placements and connects students with local schools, charities and social enterprises in York and delivered 93 projects from Sept 2020 – Dec 2022. Surveys were undertaken by participants before and after participation, plus interviews with community partners. The team now needs a qualitative research assistant to analyse the data captured and help produce recommendations for the further development of evaluation methodology.

The post needs someone with strong research skills, particularly experience of qualitative research analysis of surveys and interviews; excellent written and verbal communication skills; good attention to detail; knowledge of research ethics and integrity; ability to work independently and as part of a team; an interest in volunteering and it’s benefits.

This is a great opportunity to extend your qualitative research skills and create a report that will inform an emerging area of national interest, whilst also gaining insight into community engaged learning and professional support services in HE.
