Getting in the zone: aligning our online map with the campus signage

The concept of zones was introduced to campus last year, when new signage was put up that divided campus up into ten coloured areas. This was done as part of the University’s Wayfinding and Signage project.

Last month we launched an updated version of our online map, which now uses the same zone system and brings the two types of map closer together. We’ve hopefully made it much easier for staff, students and visitors to use the physical and digital maps together as they navigate around campus.

Our first online campus tour

We are pleased to present the University’s first online campus tour.

The tour has been designed to allow viewers to explore campus from wherever they are in the world. For those unable to visit us or attend an open day, this is a great alternative to view our beautiful campus and its excellent facilities before deciding whether to study and live at York.

An update on the Research Digital Developments Roadmap

One of our major programmes of work currently ongoing is designed to support the University’s research activity. We call this work the ‘Research Digital Developments Roadmap’ and it aims to improve the digital presence of all staff, centres, groups and departments involved in research.

There are six key projects covered by our roadmap – each one is based on activity that will deliver university-wide benefits, ensuring academics across the campus gain from our work.
