The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 results were released earlier this year, with York in the top 10 of universities across the UK for the quality of our research work.  To celebrate our success, we wanted to create consistent content for our website, social media channels and communications.

Filming the science of seabed recovery

To promote some of York’s great research, I travelled to the Isle of Arran to film a mini documentary about a ten-year research project that has seen a dramatic revival in marine life.

In-house photographer, Alex Holland, is often commissioned to take an interesting portrait shot of a University academic whom he’s never met before and who can only give a few minutes of their time.

Our project to redevelop departmental research pages is underway. We’re redesigning, restructuring and rewriting key web pages to highlight our departments’ research strengths and showcase examples of York research making a difference all over the world.
